Day 2, Full Day Tsavo West Safari and Mzima Springs

After an early breakfast, head out for a morning game drive in Tsavo West National Park. Morning is a good time to search for wildlife when temperatures are cooler and animals are more active. Your guide will look for elephants, buffalo, lions, leopards, giraffes, zebras, antelopes, hippos and different bird species. Tsavo West is known for its varied scenery, including rocky hills, lava flows, bushland, springs and open areas. Depending on your route and lodge location, you may visit Mzima Springs, a scenic freshwater spring known for hippos, crocodiles, fish and birdlife. Return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation. In the afternoon, continue with another game drive through different sections of the park, giving you more chances to see wildlife before sunset. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3, Tsavo West to Tsavo East National Park

After breakfast, depart Tsavo West and drive to Tsavo East National Park, one of Kenya’s largest and most iconic safari destinations. Tsavo East is known for its wide-open plains, red-dust landscapes, large elephant herds and the Galana River, which attracts wildlife throughout the year. The elephants here are often called red elephants because they dust themselves with the park’s reddish soil. Enjoy a game drive en route to your lodge or camp, looking out for elephants, giraffes, zebras, antelopes, buffalo and predators such as lions or leopards. After lunch and a short rest, head out for an afternoon game drive to explore more of the park’s open landscapes and wildlife areas. Return to your lodge or camp for dinner and overnight stay. Accommodation: Luxury Severin Safari Camp or Ashnil Aruba Lodge, Mid-range Taita Hills Safari Resort or Ngulia Safari Lodge, Budget Man eaters Camp or Voyager Ziwani Tented Camp
