Tilenga Safari Lodge at Murchison Falls National Park
Tilenga Safari Lodge is mid -range accommodation found in Murchison falls national park, about 2km away from Tangi gate on the main Karuma-Pakwach Road, along the northern Boundaries of Murchison falls national park. Murchison falls national park is the famous largest, oldest most visited park situated in the north eastern parts of Uganda in Amuru. It was formally called Kabalega national park. The park stands on the shores of lake Albert – home of scarce shoebills stork occupying the total area of 3,840Km squared. The park contains over 78 species of mammals including the Big five animals like; Rhinos, Lions, Leopards, Elephants, Buffaloes, antelopes, Impalas, zebras and over 450 bird species like ; water birds, savannah birds, Albertine endemic birds etc.

Tilenga safari lodge contains 13 elegant and comfortable cottages and 2 luxury tents overlooking the sweeping views of the wilderness reflecting African traditional building style with grass thatched roof and comfort proximity. Both Cottages and tents are well decorated, elevated off the ground and furnished with private en suite facilities of clean Flushing toilets, hot and cold showers, solar energy available, wooden chairs and tables, mosquito nets, towels, complementary bottled water, ironing service, free toiletries, slippers to mention but few.
Cottages have sitting areas, terraces and wooden balconies overlooking the breathtaking views of the wilderness, wildlife roaming around the lodge and surrounding area. Rooms are well equipped with comfortable clean and washed beddings with queen sized bed.
The lodge offers single beds for individuals, double/twin beds for sharing as well as triple/family rooming options with different cost ranging from about USD 200 per night depending on the season.

A restaurant; this is located in the main building of the lodge. Serves both continental and African- inspired meals that meet guests’ appetite. They offer Buffet breakfast facing the Park, bush breakfasts, picnic lunch and dinner served by well trained, friendly and organized staff. You can have meals in the place of your choice either in the dining area or in the bush (bush breakfast enjoying the Morning sunrises and diners overlooking the stars in the sky in the night.
A well-stocked bar with variety of drinks, local, cocktail, wines, spirits and international beers, you relax either in the garden and sip the drink of your choice while overlooking the stunning view over The Nile, Murchison park, wildlife roaming around the villa especially, antelopes, Uganda kobs, Zebras, Buffaloes etc.

How to access the Lodge
The lodge is nestled on the northern banks of River Nile along Gulu-Arua road near Tangi gate, a few Kilometers before the Pakwach Bridge overlooking the magnificent view of the Albert Nile and wilderness. By road, it takes about 6-7 hours’ drive from Kampala city Centre to the lodge/ park.
By air, there are domestic flights operated by Aerolink Uganda daily between Entebbe International airport and Murchison falls national park or from other tourist destinations to the park. The flight takes about 1 and a half hours, however an interconnection to other destinations may take about 2 hours and they operate daily except for low season in March, April, May and November. The closest airstrip for landing is Pakuba Airstrip. From Pakuba airstrip that is located inside the park is about 10 minutes’ drive to Tilenga Safari Lodge.
