This 3-day Bwindi Forest gorilla trekking safari offers a remarkable experience in Uganda’s diverse Bwindi Forest National Park, providing a unique opportunity for a mountain gorilla encounter. Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park is well known for mountain gorilla tracking safaris. It is located at the edge of the Albertine Rift Valley in southwestern Uganda. Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1992 due to its biological diversity. It covers a 331 sq km area of ancient evergreen tropical rainforests, which is a habitat for more than 400 mountain gorillas, about half of the world’s mountain gorilla population in the world. The forest is home to approximately 16 gorilla families that have been habituated for tourism, making Bwindi the best destination for travelers to see mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. Gorilla trekking is a significant tourist activity in the park, and it is a beautiful wildlife experience, allowing visitors to see gorillas for 1 hour and up to 4 hours through the gorilla habituation experience. Bwindi is also providing a home to a diversity of flora and fauna, including 346 species of tropical forest birds, including 23 species endemic to the Albertine rift valley, and 120 species of mammals. Other wildlife includes 220 butterflies, 100 ferns, 163 species of trees, 27 species of frogs, as well as 27 geckos and reptiles.

On the 2nd day of your 3-day Bwindi forest gorilla trekking safari, enjoy an early morning breakfast and transfer to the park headquarters with your packed lunch for a briefing by the ranger guides, and later head into the forest for your trek. Gorilla trekking in Bwindi takes 2 to 8 hours, depending on the movement of the gorillas. These primates roam the park freely, and there is no way of telling where they will be for a particular day. The time after trekking can be spent on a village tour or lazing off at the lodge as you share the memories of your gorilla trek in Bwindi and prepare for the next day. Dinner and overnight at Lodge as above
